What does it mean to truly love something?

If I could summarize what love looks like, it would be…

Not wanting to be away from the things we love, the things we enjoy, the things we crave and long for…

We find joy and pleasure in doing the stuffs that we love with the people that we love, we don’t want it to be over, we would want to stay in that place and time for as long as we can…

So what does it mean to truly love Allah and His Rasul?
What is the manifestation of such love?

Let’s take a look at Al-An’am (162)

QS: Al-An'am (162)

It is when you do all of the things described in Al-An’am and you feel the comfort and the pleasure in doing so.. and you feel the longing when you are away from them.

Much like when lovers let go of the things they love, they lose the sweetness of the taste, they feel agitated and lost…

"Truly, there is a Heaven in this world, [and] whoever does not enter it, will not enter the Heaven of the next world."

(Ibn Taymiyyah - may Allah sanctify his soul)

That sweetness.. the sweetness of iman, of heaven on earth..
If we haven’t experienced it, hope is not lost and we can strive for that goal till the end of our lives

Allah is the one who puts iman in our hearts. He is the one who puts the love and longing for iman within our hearts, so asked Him who is the turner of hearts so that your hearts may stay steadfast.

Anas narrated:

"The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) would often say: Ya Muqallibal-qulub, thabbit qalbi 'ala dinik('O Changer of the Hearts! Strengthen my heart upon Your Religion.)' So I said: 'O Prophet of Allah! We believe in you and what you have come with, but do you fear for us?' He said: 'Yes. Indeed the hearts are between two Fingers of Allah's Fingers, He changes them as He wills.'"

I pray that we will taste the sweetness of iman in this world and the hereafter. If we truly want it and if Allah wills it, we will get there biidznillah.

It’s hard to comprehend that it’s almost one year after my first post..

When I made this account, I intended to post every month and I promise myself it’s okay even if my writing isn’t perfect or even if it’s not something special because it was never my intention in the first place to write something grand.

My intention was to leave something in this dunya that will make anyone who reads it be reminded of Allah and His Rahmat. I want to leave behind something in the world that will be of benefits for my hereafter, long after I’m no longer in this world (and I sincerely pray and hope Allah makes it easy for me).
